MATERNAL DEATH ENQUIRY REVIEW UPDATE

CMACE conducted a consultation exercise, concluding in early March 2010, on its plans to conduct a review of the maternal death enquiry.   The terms of reference for the review were amended to take account of comments received during the consultation.  The final terms of reference can be accessed here.  The membership of the review panel has also been finalised and can be viewed here.  The plan is to conclude the review by March 2011.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Following the appointment of Professor James Walker in April 2009, CMACE has appointed the remaining trustees to its Board following a process of open advertisement and interviews.  The 7 new appointments will take effect from 1 July 2010, in most cases for a four year term.  The constitution of the board of trustees for CMACE is laid down in the articles of association to ensure the availability of the range of clinical, business and lay skills needed for it to guide and direct the work of the charity.  The board will be:-

  • Professor James Walker (Chair)
  • Professor Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran
  • Dr Jean Chapple
  • Professor Peter Fleming
  • Ms Sally Jenkinson
  • Ms Lea Sellers
  • Mrs Ann Seymour
  • Ms Louise Silverton
