Regional overview

The geographical area covered by the Sheffield CMACE office includes Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire & Rutland, with a population of nearly 10 million people. Within the Region are 25 NHS Trusts, with around 110,000 live births per annum.

This office delivers all aspects of the CMACE programme.

The Sheffield office holds contracts with Wakefield LSCB, Rotherham LSCB, Doncaster LSCB and Leeds LSCB to collate and report neonatal deaths as part of the requirement of the LSCB regarding working together effectively to safeguard children and promote their welfare and to access and give overview on every child's death.

The Sheffield office enquires into maternal and perinatal deaths. We are also responsible for organising a workshop and conferencing programme to disseminate our findings to the whole region.
