New Child Health Enquiry Topic

Summary

Following an open call for topics for the national confidential enquiry project to follow head injury in children, a total of 14 projects were suggested by confidential enquiry stakeholders.  The National Advisory Committee for the confidential enquiries into maternal and child health reviewed these suggested projects and evaluated them against weighed criteria in December 2009.  Three topics have been shortlisted for further consideration.  There are:-
  • idenitification of serious illness in children
  • palliative care for children
  • alcohol and substance misuse in children and young adults

These short listed topics are currently being worked on to enable the NAC to reach a decision on its final recommendation.  For further information on the topic selection process contact gale.pearson@cmace.org.uk.
